< TODAY'S COLOUR CRAZY OUTFIT >

When it comes to mixing and matching your favourite brights it can definitely be a little daunting! So when in doubt, go crazy! @sheis_sarahjane

While we all learnt the basic colour wheel rules in grade two art, when it comes to fashion these are merely loose guidelines. A harmonious outfit must always begin at the basics and grow. It is key to combine an outfit that captures your own personal flavour and colours that work for you (hair colour, eye colour, skin tone etc.). I was hesitant this morning about bringing together the neon pink and grey scarf with my mustard jumper, however, I think it worked! Below are some of my basic styling tips when it comes to colour coordination:

< BASIC TIPS ON HOW TO MIX & MATCH COLOUR >

Complementary colours > this refers to colours that are opposite each other on the colour wheel. For example, purple and orange / red and green. When combining complementary colours you will achieve an eye-catching look (aka colour blocking). This is more or less a winning method every time. If you want to spice it up though, throw in an accent of pattern or an additional colour (scarf, shoes, bag etc.)
Monochromatic colour scheme > this refers to a colour combo that consists of different shades or tones of one single colour. To create a winning monochromatic outfit, I would also suggest to vary textures/fabric of the selected colour. This will add depth, sophistication and  complete the look. A good way to avoid overloading on one tonal palette is to use white or black to break it up
